Week In Review - 1st Feb 09

It's beginning to look like we need three parts to get everything into this show. Yikes!

Part One looked at Dancing Ink's report on Understanding Islam via Virtual Worlds, plus both an interview with and report from Draxtor Despres. News on the Europe SL convention now renamed EUSLC in May and weekly comment from Mal.

Part Two with weekly comment from Tara, her machinema on "Flexi-Sculpies", plus SL London news from Debs Regent, more virtual Dr Who and the inworld Dresden Gallery. Also a "whew" from Mal who announced the likelihood of a midweek edition to catch up with what we didn't fit in.

Understanding Islam through Virtual Worlds: Collaboration, Culture and Community

The product of a year of research across the Internet and four continents, Dancing Ink Productions' Rita J. King and Joshua S. Fouts explored the potential of virtual worlds as a tool for public diplomacy and a venue for cultural dialog with Islamic Cultures as senior fellows at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs funded by a grant from the Lounsbery Foundation. The project also produced policy recommendations for the Obama Administration and a graphic book. All available at DancingInkProductions.com
