CRY in Second Life

CRY (Child Rights and You) is the first Indian nonprofit organization to create a presence in Second Life thanks to the office space and construction by IndusGeeks on the Bombay Island.

Wimbledon 2008

A little experiment by ePredator Potato (aka. Ian Hughes from IBM) showcasing their annual build for Wimbledon Tennis inworld. By all accounts turnout as been good, despite the fact that the RL Sim seemed to have it's weather systems in unusually good order this year too.

Wimbledon is a good example of a new breed of virtual installation that pulls in real-time active data from the "outside" world to create a compelling and pretty much immediate experience. If only we had time to sit and watch it all day!

The finals are on this weekend.

"M" visits the kids!

Linden Lab's new CEO entered the teen grid today to visit the Global Kids' Digital Media Initiative. Teens in both New York and Chicago were in TSL learning about the history, culture, and paleontology of Tanzania while working with each other and with an international team of scientists collecting fossils in Tanzania.
